Bonding is a beautiful process between parents and their babies because it provides a sense of security and self-esteem. This bond is the one that makes you rush into your baby’s nursery room when he is crying!
This can happen way before birth though! If your baby isn’t born yet, but you already have a bubbly feeling inside you every time you think of him or her, that’s the bond that means you’ll be able to unconditionally love and care for your little one.
It’s important for your baby to know you will always be there. Before birth you can bond in many ways, it doesn’t matter which one you choose, just pick one you feel comfortable with! Here’s a list of our favorites:
- Listen to soothing music while lying down
- Feel your bump with your hands and talk to your baby about anything you’d like (or sing!)
- Massage your belly and feel all the love through both of you
And our top pick:
- Read aloud to your baby!
The whole point is for you two to start connecting with each other. Help your baby develop better social skills by bonding with you and all the members of your household.
Occasionally the bond is not generated instantly. Don’t feel bad about this if it’s happening to you! Sometimes it’s a lot to take inc! The best thing you can remember is that you know you’ll always try your best to be a good mom to that little person.
Follow your instincts and start finding little things to share with your baby. Pick an activity you like and let your baby know you are there.
